Scholar Programming and Services

Support for Scholars & Families

The Madonna Foundation aims to support Scholars and their families inside and outside the classroom. We want to provide individuals with the tools, education and confidence they need to find success throughout their lives. Along with tuition scholarships, we provide additional programs each academic year focusing on college readiness, financial literacy, academic support, leadership training, service learning and spiritual well-being.

Students Outside
Family Orientation

The Madonna Foundation hosts our annual Family Orientation in August to welcome scholars and families. This gathering allows our new scholars and families to meet our Foundation staff and current scholars and families. At the Family Orientation, we will review all the programming and services that will be provided for all scholars and families in the upcoming school year.

Lunch and Learns

The Lunch and Learn series is designed to provide our scholars with skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, such as communication, leadership, skill development and college readiness. Each semester these seminars are held at the schools for all scholars.

College Visits

All Madonna Scholars and parents participate in two college visits each year. These visits offer information on the application process, financial aid, scholarships, academic programs and student life.

ACT

All junior scholars are offered an exciting opportunity to participate in a FREE ACT online prep course. This program includes several hours of prep sessions and practice ACT tests so students can learn tips, strategies and techniques needed to succeed on their ACT test.

FASFA

Arrupe College of Loyola University provides an excellent and informative presentation on Financial Aid for college. Our scholars and families learn about FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) through a presentation that covers: FASFA Application Timeline, Documents Needed, Grants, Loans and Additional Scholarships and a Q&A session.

STEAM in the Classroom

The Madonna Foundation works with a variety of community partners, such as Argonne National Labs to provide our Annual STEAM program open to all students.

Christmas with a Cause

The Madonna Scholars gather together in December for a Christmas Celebration/Service Project. In the true spirit of giving, scholars create an item to bring Christmas cheer to those in need.

Smart Money - Financial Literacy

This workshop is presented annually through our Community Partnership with WinTrust Banks and provides helpful tools and tips for our scholars and families in order to help them navigate college expenses and build their financial success for the future.

Leadership Workshops

Scholars participate in annual leadership conferences to develop leadership styles, build self confidence and gain valuable communication skills.

Career Days

Junior and Senior Madonna Scholars participate in our annual Career Day program that allows our students to network with professionals in a variety of career paths.

We are so thrilled to have our students visit Chicago area firms and spend the day getting a first-hand look at how a professional operation functions.

Graduation

The Madonna Foundation looks forward to celebrating our graduating seniors. We join together in May with our scholars, their parents, the school liaisons and supporters to celebrate our graduates and all their achievements.

Service Hours

Throughout their four years as a Madonna Scholar, students have an opportunity to earn at least 30 service hours. Some programs and events that provide service hours include: Christmas with a Cause, Madonna Mile, Trivia Night and Alumnae events.
